Single's Groups

Praise! Fellowship Singles Ministry

What is the Praise! Fellowship Singles Ministry all about?
We're glad you asked!!
We are a group of singles of all ages, some never married, some divorced, some widowed, some dating.  Some come from this church, many come from other churches, or are searching for a church they can call home.  This is a safe place for people to come and develop healthy, Godly friendships.  We respect each other’s denominational differences and affiliations.  We love the Lord and want to share the JOY of JESUS with others.  For such a time as this, God has appointed us to singleness and we are determined to make the most of this time in our lives.  We are a unique group who love to encourage and serve each other and have fun!!
We strive to create an atmosphere of respectful, courteous Christian fellowship in which the conduct and character of Christ are emphasized among participants.  The expectation of Christ-like behavior extends into the areas of language and clothing for all singles at every event.  We do not exist to be a dating service for single adults.
We do lots of different activities, some indoors, some outdoors, some high-energy and some relaxing.  There’s something for everyone and children are invited to many of our activities.  Sometimes we get together  with other Christian singles groups and do events with them – that way we get to make a lot more friends!!
It’s a good thing!  No it’s a GOD THING!!  We would be delighted to have you join us.  We have too much fun to keep to ourselves!

Summer is here! And it will speed by fast – grab it and hold on tight!!

We’ve got some exciting events planned: It’s picnic season! We need do get in as many picnics as we can! We’ll join the SOLO Singles Group from Erie for their big picnic at Presque Isle State Park in August. And don’t forget the Cleveland Air Show in September! I included it on this flyer so you can plan for it. It’s very fun! There are acres and acres of planes on the ground to view and walk through. There will be lots of pilots and military people to talk to. The US Navy Blue Angles will be there, along with the US Army Golden Knights Parachute Team, US Air Force F15E Strike Eagle Tactical Demonstration, and tons more! You’ll see many military planes and other aircraft doing different aerial stunts that are absolutely amazing! Check out www.clevelandairshow.com. You’ll want to bring your kids & grandkids to this one!! Even though I did not list the POW WOW as one of our events like I usually do doesn’t mean you can’t go! It’s July 17 & 18 at The Veterans Park, Salamanca High School Football Field. Our own Charles Jacobs will be there competing. Check it out at: www.senecapowwow.org. We’re looking for some fun things to do in the fall. I can’t wait to see what God gives us to do. ?

Are You Obsessed By Something?

Are you obsessed by something? You will probably say, “No, by nothing,” but all of us are obsessed by something – usually by ourselves, or, if we are Christians, by our own experience of the Christian life. But the psalmist says that we are to be obsessed by God. The abiding awareness of the Christian life is to be God Himself, not just thoughts about Him. The total being of our life inside and out is to be absolutely obsessed by the presence of God. A child’s awareness is so absorbed in his mother that although he is not consciously thinking of her, when a problem arises, the abiding relationship is that with the mother. In the same way, we are to “live and move and have our being in God” (Acts 17:28), looking at everything in relation to Him, because our abiding awareness of Him continually pushes itself to the forefront of our lives. If we are obsessed by God nothing else can get into our lives – not concerns, nor tribulations, not worries. And now we understand why our Lord so emphasized the sin of worrying. How can we dare to be so absolutely unbelieving when God totally surrounds us? To be obsessed by God is to have an effective barricade against all the assaults of the enemy. “He Himself shall dwell in prosperity…” (Psalm 25:13). God will cause us to “Dwell in prosperity,” keeping us at ease, even in the midst of tribulation, misunderstanding, and slander, if our “life is hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3). We rob ourselves of the miraculous, revealed truth of this abiding companionship with God. “God is our refuge….” (Psalm 46:1). Nothing can break through His shelter of protection. Borrowed from “My Utmost For His Highest’ Oswald Chambers

The oil of courtesy smoothes away friction. When in doubt about whether to apologize or not – apologize. The smallest act of kindness can save a friendship. “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God”. 1 John 4:7-8
